Just over 1.6 million quads (The model was built high-res to hold-up well in close-up shots, and to avoid unnecessary tessellation that can detract from the overall visual quality.), the temple model is finally done. One interesting thing to note is that the model deviates a little from the original concept art. This is not an uncommon occurrence in the world of 3D, as some things do not always translate well from 2-D to 3-D. When this happens, it is sometimes the responsibility of the Modeler to “fill in the blanks.” As such, I had to with certain areas of the temple but only with Phil’s approval.
